Noise At Work Regulations 2005

European Directive 2003/10/EC on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding exposure of workers to the risks arising from physical agents (noise) came into force on 15th February 2003 and has resulted in the introduction of the New Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 in the UK.
These new UK regulations cover virtually all workplaces with few exceptions and will come into force on 6th April 2006. They will repeal the existing Noise at Work Regulations 1989, and will bring significant changes to the actions required by employees and employers. Employers will have extra responsibilities and noise exposures and limits will be lowered.
